Adam Lambert - Holding Out for a Hero

The hero is male. And he is woefully missed. What Bonnie Tyler lamented in typical women's mode in the year I was born - and seemed long outdated - is back. A male hero is needed! Looking around at world history, one can only agree. Domineering big-animal hunters are no longer the order of the day. In Bonnie's case, the cowboy came and saved her. Thank God... Who will it be for Adam Lambert? He definitely needs a He, a God, as he covers the lyrics so one on one. How elegant it would have been if he had used the pronouns he and she to the same degree. But he covers and there is of course no need for independence. Where would we get there? Maybe he wasn't allowed to and the role of the hero distribution is fixed in the music industry for all times.

Musically Adam Lambert reaches into the full and serves us a song that seems like a time travel into too tight and colorful tracksuits. It's going to be bright and flashy. The album to go with it will be appropriately titled ' High Drama' and will consist of choice cover songs. It will be released on February 24.

For some it's glam rock, for others electro pop - it blurs a bit. I don't like comparisons, but with cover songs it pushes itself that way. The typical raspy voice of Bonnie against an admittedly incredibly broad dynamic rock voice of a Lambert who may show you the physics of scales. I was just like, "Dude, he can sing high. And it sounds good too!" He is accompanied by rocking guitar riffs and a groovy dance beat. It's a spectacle, as you'd expect from him. But, getting back to the comparisons, you could buy the desperation that sounded in Bonnie's voice. Adam's version, on the other hand, feels hollow. Like a glittering disco ball that's beautiful from the outside, but collapses at the first bar fight.

I'd rather wait for Indiana Jones with Bonnie. I know, so antique....
